Woman Left Gobsmacked After Guy Requests Refund For Date

Dates – we’ve all been on them. Hopefully you’ve not been on too many like Lucy, however.

Imagine the scene – the food is bad, and the jokes are worse. The only thing you’re excited about it getting the check and leaving.

That’s the situation Lucy Brown found herself in when she was on a date in London recently – except there was a twist. Her date requested a refund after the date!

After an average night, Lucy text her date and explained that she wasn’t really feeling it. Fair enough, right?

Well, not according to her date. He replied saying how “devastated” he was! He also asked for a “contribution” towards the cost of the drinks he’d bought her! Don’t worry – he made sure to include his account number and sort code.

He wasn’t just requesting a reimbursement for the drinks! He also included the cost of his watch that Lucy had put during the date, after she gave him her hat to wear.

Lucy was sure to text him back to let him know that she’d transferred her half of the money. That’s not all though – she also donated the same amount again to a donkey sanctuary. Why the donkey sanctuary? She’d never laughed so hard in her life.

Lucy, a fashion designer from London, said: “I am a bit surprised – how can he be so devastated about just one date?

“I only ended up with his watch because we were both messing around and he was wearing my hat, so in return he gave me it to wear.

“When we both went to say goodbye we both forgot I still had his watch on.

“I decided to pay him the £42.50 back for my share of the cost, but I also donated the same amount to a donkey sanctuary.

“He has since messaged back and he put ‘I feel like the donkey sanctuary has come out better from this situation’. I just text him back saying ‘eeyore’.”

Unfortunately, Lucy’s embarrassment didn’t end there. Lucy’s love life is now the topic of conversation (and the main source of humour) in her office, with her colleagues suggesting she write a book to detail all of her awkward encounters, including this one.

“This is definitely the weirdest date I’d ever had”.
