12. Sergey Brin, 43 – Net Worth: $41.6 billion
Much like Steve Ballmer (25 on this list), Brin and his partner Larry Page have helped more than most to shape the world as we know it today. Brin founded Google back in 1995 whilst he was pursuing a PhD at Stanford, and since then Google has morphed into one of the most powerful companies in the world, generating almost $90 billion in revenues for 2016.
Brin nowadays focuses on some of the more ‘out there’ projects, taking a lead role in Google (now Alphabet)’s self-driving cars and automated home projects. Brin also oversees the delivery drone project, Project Wing, their smart contact lense company, Verily, and even internet-beaming hot air balloons uner the Google X project.
