Despite being one of the oldest members of the uber-rich list, Mr Ka-Shing (no, seriously) has his finger on the pulse when it comes to what’s hot. His investment firm, Horizon Ventures, has backed the likes of Facebook, Skype and Spotify through their hyper-growth. Not only does he invest in Silicon Valley giants, he is a high school dropout just like some of their famous CEOs.
Li’s son looks to be in line to inherit his incredible wealth, but the 88 year old is showing no signs of slowing down, even at his age. His wealth grew by over $4 billion last year, and he recently opened the 12,000th AS Watson store, his firm’s health and beauty retailer.
